I'm excited: 2-D still makes a lot of fun like the old days! Rather, it is a 3-D look in a 2-D game world. The longed for, of course, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser and long from me, Bowser'S brood.
You start with Mario in the first world map, little by little, you play here free the way for the other levels or Toad houses, where you can
collect bonuses. These can then easily select on the world map before entering a section. So Mario can just start with a fire flower in the level. Very handy. Subsoil, water, and many more? Levels have again taken hold. Twice in every world you fight your way through a castle, at the end of a wait of Bowser's pupils. If you are a second time against Bowser? S enforced brood, one travels to the next map.
Control variants, there is again different: only WiiMote or Nunchuck. I recommend you only play with the Wiimote. Tiny are possible with the motion control of the Wiimote, so we adjusted platforms to explore other areas. Many secret passages provide for re-entering certain levels, as also 3 gold coins must be like in the DS version, again afterwards. There are challenges, see how in certain levels Toad back to level and contribute to the exit.
If you do not get ahead in a level partout several times and has lost a life, you turn the super-free wizard. This appears in the form of Luigi and play the level through completely. It should be noted, however, collected coins and the like are not stored. Who wants to see everything that has even ran! Nevertheless, a great new feature, what Nintendo offers us here.
I perform as a criticism of the extreme far-sightedness. Mario is quite small on the screen, this is his surroundings to be well manageable. That may make the fun 4-player mode even more sense because of the overview, but solo, I have felt it as very stressful.
Also you meant it with the retro look too good, thick black bars above and below PAL.
As there are playable characters Mario, Luigi, and two Toads. Why 2 Toads? Mario Kart goes to show how many characters there are in the Mario universe, why not have one there a Toad, and XXX can take?
Overall, even this Mario game is around a Surprise, Extensive levels and worlds, a decent soundtrack that can inspire with many retro pieces and excellent playability.
Due to my criticism of the game, best Wii game of the year.
